About me

My career journey so far ...
I'm a career business analyst working across the full project lifecycle, from initial business case all the way through to user adoption, on business and technology change projects.

I started in business analysis by graduating in the subject at the University of Strathclyde 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿, cut my teeth in Accenture's graduate programme, built up my expertise through in-house and consultancy roles. And today, I still ❀️ being right in the thick of a project - working with clients get to where they actually need to go.

In 2012, after being an employee since university, I set up my own company and became an independent consultant. Nowadays, I specialise in applying my BA expertise to deliver and consult on Salesforce CRM projects - usually for financial services clients.

And on a personal note ...
Whilst my family roots stem from Hong Kong πŸ‡πŸ‡° and my family name is more popular in πŸ‡°πŸ‡·, I'm a Londoner πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ and have been lucky enough to travel to 75+ countries so far. When I'm not travelling, I'm refining my πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅ cooking skills or having fun on my electric 🚲.

Key certifications In business analysis: In Salesforce: In project delivery and domain knowledge:
It has been an absolute pleasure working with Sam on our programme. His skills as a Salesforce BA, as well as knowledge of best practices has helped elevate the entire programme and I would work with him again in an instant, should the opportunity arise. He is a natural leader, with an eye for detail as well as the skill set to see his ideas through, whilst taking us all on a journey to become better.
Nav Sood (Project & Change Manager - Finastra)
As a [Salesforce] BA he has built strong relationships with his business stakeholders, quickly translating their needs into very detailed system requirements. He has a flexible and open approach, will adapt and take on change, but will also use his relationships on occasion to direct stakeholders when requests are going beyond the ability of the tech team to deliver.
Jonathan Hall (Salesforce Tech Lead - Open Banking)
Sam worked for me on a key regulatory project within the FCA. This involved a large amount of business change and a constant change in scope due to external factors. However Sam was able to deliver beyond expectations and did so by building trust with the business stakeholders as well as working collaboratively with the wider project team. His professional approach and breadth of experience made him a valuable asset to the team.
Charles Asher (Lead BA - Financial Conduct Authority)
